Which do people think is better for copying cd's and things? Windows media player, or nero? What do people think of them?

Nero all the way. WMP is good if u don't have anything else, but Nero is probably the best. Its easy to use.

Could anyone give me some ideas on how to start off, because all jaws does is go on about the windows and fax viewer or something.

hmm, it must be me, but I have yet to find that nero is anything but accessible via jaws.
I rather find roxio is much more user friendly. *shrug*

I am also confuced about nero. Some versions are accessible and some others are not. I had nero burning rom 6 and it was nice with a very good wisart which could guide us through the burning prossess but some other versions are not so good.

O...crap. SKPOET, what does your roxio say on the start menu? crap, now maybe I used roxio and thought it was nero. damn it. Mine says "burn a CD or DVD submenu". No wait, that's nero, i'm almost positive. I have used roxio in the past, and that one is also good. Man, I'm an idiot sometimes.
